Massage is one of the most natural methods of healing and stress relief. While many people choose to reduce stress with prescription medications, many others visit a day spa weekly in order to relax after a hard week at work. Additionally, massage can also be very healing. Many athletes undergo massage treatment for sore muscles, twisted ankles, and torn ligaments.
All day spas offer massage treatment. However, not all offer a wide variety of massage types. Hollywood Spa, located at Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA has different massage techniques available. Moreover, it provides a diversity of body Scrubs and numerous treatments such as Shiatsu, Reflexology, and Swedish massage. But let’s just name some of the best known massage teqniques available for you ultimately at Voda Spa.
Swedish Massage. A Swedish massage is meant to relieve muscle tension and loosen sore joints. It is performed over the entire body. There are five major strokes used in Swedish massage. The first is effleurage, or stroking. The second is petrissage. This is a grabbing and lifting of the muscles. The third is friction. This is where the massage therapist massages the thickest parts of muscles by working their fingers and thumbs in a circular motion. The fourth is tapotement, or tapping and chopping strokes. The final major stroke used in Swedish massage is vibration. This is where the massage therapist flattens their fingers on a muscle and then shakes rapidly in order to create a vibration.
Deep Tissue Massage. Deep tissue massage is a massage technique that targets the parts of muscle that lie far below the surface. All muscles in the human body have many layers, and the lower levels cannot be reached by normal massage techniques. Deep tissue massage therapists use their fingers, thumbs, and, occasionally, elbows to reach the deepest layers of muscle. Deep tissue massage generally involves quite a bit of pressure and friction.
Neuromuscular Massage. Neuromuscular massage is a form of deep tissue massage that is used to increase the blood flow in individual muscles, release pressure on nerves, and reduce pain. Neuromuscular massage therapists search for knots in muscle that can cause pain not only in that individual muscle but also in other unrelated parts of the body.
Sports Massage. A sports massage is not only used to relieve pain — it is commonly used to prepare muscles prior to activity. Using techniques comparable to that of a Swedish massage, a sports massage can prepare muscles for activity and heighten an athlete’s energy. After activity, a sports massage can cool muscles and prevent injury.
The best types of spa massage make use of aromatherapy oils to facilitate the application of strokes and to complement the massage with the relaxing effect of therapeutic aromas, making your spa experience absolutely unforgettable.

There is nothing quite more relaxing and therapeutic than having a long soak in the old tub. Many people swear by this course of therapy and go all out to make it as salubrious as possible. Some use aromatherapy, others candles or special bath salts and others just rely on the odd plastic duck. Research has shown that the benefits of warm water on the skin releases tension and gets you in a sleepy mood before retiring for the night. Many insomniacs revert to this practice and many have gained extra hours of sleep they would not normally have received.

The first thing I try to take a look at when going to a new house is the bathroom. Personally, I think this says much about the person who owns it. Of course there are small bathrooms in many houses but this does not mean they cannot have appeal and good design. With all the lovely designs of bathroom furniture around and their appurtenances, there is really no excuse for lifting the appearance of even the smallest closet. In fact, many suppliers design appliances with this in mind; you can even buy an upright all-purpose cabinet that includes sauna and shower in an upright form so you can squeeze it in almost anywhere.

As fashions change like the seasons, a major part of ‘what’s in’ relates to colour. If you are discussing clothing the changeover to a new season isn’t a main worry; it is not that expensive to buy new clothes and after a few times worn, people tend to leave in their wardrobe to be seen in something new. The colour of the bathroom suite or wall tiles can be a different matter. Once you have plumped for your choice of colour, if you don’t want to have to shell out regularly, you are stuck with it. Bathroom colours are now fashion statements so you need to choose wisely. Pastel shades usually carry well over long periods, but solid darker colours can be become outdated more quickly. Many people now tend to stick to white as it is more universally accepted, using bathroom furniture such as taps and shower heads to express fashion.

It’s easy enough to find cheap bathroom products online, but how can you trust the quality? A lot of stuff is imported from China these days, but they have a reputation for lower quality, and from my own experience I’d say that reputation is at least partly justified…
There are some excellent bathroom manufacturers in the EU, The USA, and other places - all producing superb quality gear, but they can be hard to find… I did a Google for cheap uk bathrooms and came up with a few good suppliers. Right at the top of the page was Blue Riband Bathrooms who have ranges from well respected manufacturers like RAK Ceramics, VitrA Bathrooms, and Primaflow Taps. Their prices seem excellent - selling everything at ebay prices (as you can see from their eBay shop).
More to follow…

Money down the plug hole or one of the best home improvement investments you can make. The choice is undoubtedly down to the individual. When I had a property on the market that I just couldn’t sell for the price I was expecting, I took a look at what I thought would improve my chances with the limited budget I had. The bathroom was the area I decided to tackle. Firstly I searched on line to see what options I had that met with my limited funds. I decided to imitate different themes I saw and mix them into my own finalised version-I found very reasonably priced bathroom fittings and cabinets that totally transformed the whole setting of what had once been the dullest room in the house. The result was phenomenal and when I sold the house shortly after completing the job, it proved a painful parting.
